You will notice many bakelite items in the kitchens, for example. We believe this kettle, which is dingy and dull, might have been one of the many metal kitchen items seen in the scene where the Grinch goes in his kitchen and grabs the table cloth from a table covered in pots and dishes, etc.
The whole cave is a mess of salvaged items from the Who's Dumpit on Mt. Crumpit, so it could have been anywhere.
The kettle was modified with the swirling metal embellishments and the Seussian handle on the kettle and lid. The pot itself is in excellent shape though I never dared put it on a hot stove!
It did sit on my stove as a prop (which got lots of laughs and smiles) but was always moved when the oven/stove was in use. In fact, it still has the original tag on it from whoever tagged the props and numbered them. The number is hand written: 3335. I hate to see it stay forever in a box in storage and I doubt I will ever have a home to display anything in again.
The certificate is overall in good condition. It used to be in a frame.
I took it out of the frame for storage purposes. It got a little crinkled as I hadn't kept it in a folder when bringing it from storage. However, you can see by the photos that its still fine and readable. It should be framed again.
I have it now in a folder so nothing further happens to it.
