Doctor Who Human Nature (2007) Production Used'Hero' Light Up Alien Prop
An original alien blaster used in the production of the BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who (2007). Blasters like these were first seen on-screen in the eighth episode of series 3'Human Nature', then again in the following episode'The Family of Blood', all starring David Tennant as the Doctor. These blaster's were used throughout both story's and were seen being used by a criminal family know as the Family of Blood. The blaster was made by the props department and is one of the hero light up version's.
Constructed from resin and internal electronics it features a trigger mechanism which creates a light up effect when the actor fire's it. Measuring at approximately 10" x 8" x 2.75, it remains in a good production used condition with additional wear from use.
In the story, the alien time traveller the Tenth Doctor (David Tennant) hides from his pursuers, the Family of Blood, in 1913 England. He transforms himself into a human and implants the false persona of a schoolteacher called "John Smith" to avoid detection until the Family's life runs out.
