Beverly Hills Cop, filmed in, 1984 is police action comedy film staring Eddie Murphy as a street-smart Detroit detective who visits Beverly Hills, California. This first film in the Beverly Hills Cop franchise shot Murphy to international stardom, won the People's Choice Award for "Favorite Motion Picture", and was nominated for both the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture Musical or Comedy and Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay in 1985. Eugene Jardin was born in Germany in 1947 and studied at the Michalis School of Art, University of Cape Town, South Africa. Since his move to the United States in the early 1980's he has been considered a thoroughly Southwestern Artist establishing a strong position, in not only, the California and New Mexico art markets.
