Professional Puppet - Original Spitting Image Production Used Puppet Head. Here for sale is a superb professional puppet head , as used on the original British satirical TV show Spitting Image.

The puppet is of Emlyn Hughes, the former Liverpool Football player. It has the word Emlyn inscribed on the back of the neck. The puppet head has been made from latex rubber and PU foam. See the video from the original series. Emlyn can be seen from 1.04 minutes in.

It has been wonderfully sculpted by the team behind Spitting Image, with great character as these puppets often did. A great example of this classic TV programme and in good and solid condition, considering its age and use. Of course, like all TV props, production wear and tear is to be expected. The inside foam is starting to crumble somewhat, however the outside latex appears very stable indeed.

There are scuffs/ grey marks to the paint work all over, a few minor (cosmetic) holes on the latex (see photos) on the underside of the nose, lips and ears and a few minor areas. Some of the foam has come away from the inside of the head. Overall very reasonable condition - you can tell this puppet has been very well looked after over the years and stored carefully. The latex has hardened with age, so it isnt as flexible as it once was and it isnt advised to use the mouth/ operate the puppet head in general. Any physical use of the puppet is at the buyers own risk. This should be used as a collectors piece and cared for appropriately by a serious collector. No torso, hands or costume is included in this sale, just the puppet head itself. This puppet comes with a certificate of authenticity from one of the best prop dealers.
