This comes with a copy of the original article from 1984 explaining how the props from the Movie were originaly obtained before they were all destroyed. As stated in the Article.

According to Adam and Howard, a person from the Tri-Star Building came into Howard's business with some Roy Hobbs' cards, the trading cards used in the movie. Howard knew his son would be interested and asked if there was anything else available. The person said that the items were being destroyed, but was able to give Howard Some Cards, Tickets, and Programs before the Remainder were Destroyed.
