This rare prop is seen in the tracking shot both on the way in and on the way out of the count room, and called out in the written script specifically. The Sign is seen on the way in at 6:29 to 6:32.
This "Authorized personnel only" sign is also seen during a sequence of tipsters calling in information to Nicky's crew about people checking in with valuables. The sign measures approximately in inches: 14" x 10".
The prop sign was filmed on a sound stage off Las Vegas boulevard where the Cosmopolitan Casino now stands. It was found abandoned with the screen used 1973 map of Las Vegas from another scene shot at the very same sound stage location constructed at an unopened book in the old Jockey Club on the North end of The Strip. The props are from the abandoned and demolished set in the late 1990s and have been stored away. When you see the shot of John Nance with his'suitcase' exit the casino to the street, outside it looks nothing like anywhere on'The strip, that is because the shot exiting through the door to the street was done with a blue screen. I have a museum interested in purchasing or borrowing the piece at the moment and this piece should definitely be in a museum. I know it has the possibility to be worth much more in the future now that the cast is aging and old Hollywood is disappearing only to be replaced by CGI.
