A prop Sidi Gourd fruit used in the 1999 movie Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace starring: Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman & Ian McDiarmid. This prop fruit called'Sidi Gourd' is possibly one of the most over engineered pieces of prop fruit we have ever seen, its constructed from what appears to be a type of fabric sponge like core from with a hard outer skin, running in the middle is a solid iron bar, most probably made this way to add weight to prevent it moving in strong winds, it weighs 480 grams and was used in one of the Tatooine street vendors. We have included an image from the book'Star Wars The Visual Encyclopedia' that shows this type of prop fruit on page 111. It measures 195mm x 76mm x 78mm (7.6" x 2.9" x 3) at the widest points.
