The Time Machine Movie Sundial Prop/George Pal -1960. This is a Beautiful 19th century Sundial that was used in the 1960 MGM/George Pal production of The time Machine! This is a one in a lifetime, One of a kind Screen used prop from this 1960 movie. Props are few and far between for this movie. This comes with a letter signed by Norman Balos who was the VP at The house of Props 17 years ago when i bought the item.
This was also used in the TV Series Diagnosis Murder, On the bottom of the base is The House of Props Serial number HP3017. George Wells (Taylor) and featured using time-lapse photography showing the rapid passage of the seasons via the build up and melting of snow. The sundial is later featured prominently during Wells' "time stops" including the tumultuous future as London is getting bombed. Artifacts from this beloved and critically-acclaimed film are incredibly rare. Aside from the prop Time Machine (the original full-scale version is presently in a private museum; the miniature version Wells showed to his friends in the film was destroyed in a fire at George Pal's Bel-Air home), one could not ask for a finer relic from this science fiction classic that won the 1961 Academy Award for Best Effects, Special Effects.
